Mina Miryanova is an up and coming young artist who launched her career as an illustrator in 2007 by illustrating God’s Son was Born. She is also a portrait painter, specializing in animal portraits.
Primarily an illustrative painter, Miryanova’s current body of work consists mainly of themes of fantastic creatures in realistic settings and situations. Her works are theatrical and dramatic, yet calm and soothing to the eye. Grace and beauty are the main features she strives to incorporate into her works. She also enjoys working in charcoal and pen and ink.
Originally from Bulgaria, Miryanova moved to Florida to attend the Ringling College of Art and Design. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the American Southeast, and has visited Costa Rica and South Korea. Her work reflects her interest in and observations of the fashions of various eras and cultures. Some of her greatest influences are fashions from 17th and 18th century England and France and the Victorian era.
In her spare time, Miryanova enjoys exploring the different branches of the visual arts, including drawing, experimenting with different media, and sculpting. Interior design is also of interest to her. She is currently creating masks inspired by the Venetian Carnivals. She also enjoys theater and classical music.
